The Kametaya Sake Brewery, located on the outskirts of the city, will be holding a seasonal measuring and sales event this coming weekend (May 18-19).
A very special limited-edition sake will be released for sale. The brewery offers free tastings for their best selection of sakes, fruits liqueurs, and Amazake, a sweet non-alcoholic sake.
You can tour the founder’s historic family home as well as the sake brewery, both of which were built in the mid-19th century.
Combine your trip to the Kametaya Sake Brewery with a visit to the nearby Japan Ukiyo-e Museum for a perfect excursion!
Free shuttle bus service is available every 50 minutes from Hotel Montagne Matsumoto between 8:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Alternatively, take a train on Kamikochi Line from Matsumoto to Shimonii Station, which is only a few minutes walk from the brewery. We also recommend renting a bike if the weather is good.
